SPLICING
Hot‑Wire Splicer
Clean, Flat Butt‑Splicing for Nonwovens, Foams & Thermoplastic Webs
The Menzel Hot‑Wire Splicer is engineered to create strong, flat, and reliable butt‑splices in nonwovens, foams, and a wide range of thermoplastic materials. Unlike traditional overlap seaming, this system cuts and welds two webs simultaneously, producing a smooth splice that maintains uniform thickness and eliminates bulk at the seam.
Designed to accommodate web widths from 24″ to 200″, the Hot‑Wire Splicer offers precise control over temperature, heating cycles, and cooling cycles—ensuring consistent results across varying materials and thicknesses.
Key Features
- Compact, cross‑braced steel frame housing all operating mechanisms
- Pneumatically operated jaws with push‑button controls and adjustable nip pressure for simple, reliable operation
- Heat‑resistant silicone rubber pads on both nipping surfaces
