The Surface Winder is an integral part of the Menzel A-Frame system, widely used for winding webs into giant rolls. Depending upon the material, these rolls can be as large as 12' in diameter. The Surface Winder is a "lay-on" roll which can be set to maintain a pre-selected, uniform winding pressure against the web face. This eliminates entrapped air between layers and controls the tendency for telescoping of the roll during build-up. And, like the many other products in the Menzel line, the Surface Winder was originally developed for the textile industry and successfully adapted to a wide range of web handling applications.

Standard Features:

Formed carbon steel, rigidly cross-braced side frames for added strength.
Set of winding arms with surface winding roll.
Pair of hydraulic cylinders to raise and lower the arms.
Self-synchronizing hydraulic drive with tension and speed control for better winding consistency.
Electrical control panel with switches for all operating functions.
