In order to receive the best possible results from your finishing range, the web needs to be kept straight throughout the process. Menzel offers two different types of guiders to handle this requirement. The first and most basic is the hydraulically powered Oscillating Roll Guider; the second is the Positive Displacement Guider. Both come standard with a photo-electric edge sensor to insure straight, even winding. And, according to the size and type of web you are winding, Menzel can adapt one of these two guidance systems to take care of your specific needs.

Standard Features:

Support girt is constructed of rectangular steel tubing with brackets welded on both ends. This makes it suitable for mounting to existing framing in order to guide fabrics or webs on a horizontal, vertical, or angular plane.
Rectangular steel roll arms have a pivot shaft on one end for mounting to the support girt and a pivot shaft on the opposite end for accommodating the roll swivel brackets.
For guiding dry fabrics, two steel guide rolls with internal ball bearings are clamped in the cast end swivel brackets mounted on the arm pivot supports.
Photo-electric edge guide sensing head and support bracket with electrical cord connects to the solid-state control panel.
Hydraulic cylinder controls the swiveling of the rolls and is powered by a 1/2 HP, 110V-AC motor

Optional Features:

Cork roll covering provides more positive guiding of the web by the rolls.
Type 304 stainless steel rolls suitable for guiding wet or damp fabrics.
Hand operated width adjustment screw for positioning the edge sensor in lieu of the standard tube-type bracket adjustment guider.
Automatic guider centering at machine stop plus manual jog pushbuttons for positioning guider rolls.
Dual-sensor center line guiding is available to keep web centered in the process rather than guiding one edge.
