| Menzel has
made another breakthrough in web handling and finishing, this time in the area of
splicing. Until now, seaming non-wovens, foams, and thermoplastics was handled in the conventional overlap manner. Now, with the development of the Hot-Wire Splicer, Menzel makes it possible to but-splice these webs. We can design units to handle 24" to 200" webs. The hot-wire splicer cuts and welds the two webs together, forming a clean, flat butt-splice. And each unit is furnished with an adjustable temperature controller and variable heating and cooling cycles to accommodate a wide variety of web materials and thicknesses. |
