To reduce "pilling" and enhance the appearance of fabric by burning off the long, hairy fibers, several singers are available. But when it comes to performing this function at three times the speed, there is only one choice -- The Menzel HVS (High-Velocity Singer). The new Menzel HVS, from the largest singer manufacturer in the U.S., is the result of total re-engineering. The machine is fully-automated. Turn it on and the pilot burners automatically light and remain ready until cloth enters the singer. At a preset speed, the main burners light and move into firing position. The firing rate of the burners is automatically proportional to line speed, keeping the singeing rate constant. Whe the cloth slows below the preset speed, the main burners are extinguished and rotate away from the cloth. As you can see, Menzel has taken "user-friendly" to another level.

Standard Features:

The heart of any singer is the burner. The new Menzel HVS offers a unique three-row port arrangement, allowing high-speed combustion in a streamlined package.
Burners can be easily adjusted for three firing positions:
1. Direct into the cloth.
2. Direct into the rolls.
3. Tangent to the rolls.
Completely re-designed fuel supply control system utilizes modulating air-gas mixing valves for precise flame intensity proportional to the fabric speed. As fabric speed increases, the flame increases; as fabric speed decreases, the flame decreases -- automatically.
Control system features a process control unit with digital readout of the heat output percentage, automatic or manual operating modes and a digital speed readout.
Water-cooled rolls are individually termostated and preset at 160° F, protecting the fabric while reducing condensation on the outside of the rolls.
Unique to the Menzel HVS is the built-in combustion air blower, eliminating the need for a separate blower. Filter and connections to pipe in clean air are included.

Optional Features:

Controls are available to reduce the operating widths of the burners in 10" increments (5" per side), allowing considerable gas savings on narrower web runs.
Non-contact temperature sensors can be aded to sound an alarm should the cloth temperature rise above the preset point.
